Combo Jet Ski & Boat Licence

If you are looking to do PWCL (Jetski) licence but do NOT already have your RMDL then we recommended the combined package of RMDL and PWCL

OR

Just figure you might as well save time (particularly as a lot of the PWCL course is recapping knowledge from the RMDL training)

Then this is the course for you!!

 

We are an approved QLD BoatSafe training provider offering either competency-based training and assessment program or recognition of prior learning assessment for Personal Watercraft Licence (PWCL).

We are focused on training safety, awareness & confidence in boat handling will achieving the required Boatsafe standard.

All levels of experience are catered for and we combine online learning with practical components to get the most out of experience.

Course Overview

To get a Queensland RMDL and PWCL, you must be:,

  • Be at least 16 years old. However, you can complete the course at 15 ½ years old.
  • Complete and pass a BoatSafe course or have a recognised and valid interstate or overseas marine licence

What is involved:

  1. Contact us, so we can send you links for the online learning.
  2. Complete the Online theory courses for RMDL and PWCL, in your own time, at your own pace.

Practical training must be completed within 3 months of obtaining the Online Training Course Completion Certificate. 

  1. Co-ordinate a date/time for the ‘on water’ component. (Weather dependant)
  2. Getting on the water for boat handling skills, practising theory knowledge and building confidence. This is the time to ask any questions and to have some fun.
  3. On shore complete the RMDL multi-choice theory exam, to check your knowledge. Any gaps in your knowledge will be briefed by your instructor before re-attempting.
  4. Get back on the water to conduct the RMDL BoatSafe Practical Assessment.
  5. Have a break and then change over to the Jet Ski.
  6. Get back on the water for Jet Ski training of skills.
  7. Complete the PWCL multi-choice theory exam.
  8. Then back on the water to conduct the PWCL BoatSafe Practical Assessment.
  9. Take your Statement of Competency to the Transport and Main Roads Queensland, pay their fee to receive your licence. The Statement of Competency is valid for 6 months.

The ‘Statement of Competency’ is NOT a licence.

Assessment

The Maritime Safety Queensland BoatSafe Licensing Scheme allows:

  • 2 attempts to attain 100% at the BoatSafe approved multiple choice theory tests
  • 1 attempt at an unassisted competency based practical assessment per day
